WHO WE ARE ?
A Market Access Centre
KwaZulu-Natal Centre For Rural Development” a Non-Profit organisation was established for the sole purpose of empowering the rural farmers through skills development, improved and technologized production techniques and to enable market access for their produce. It currently has a database of 200 farmers within Ugu District, and it is rolling-out its databases to other districts within the KwaZulu-Natal province.

History of Agriculture
Based on prehistorical archaeological evidence of pastoralism and farming in southern Africa, ancient settlements closest outside the present-day South African border region, related to Bantu language speaking peoples, so far was found in sites located in the southernmost region inside the borders of what is now Mozambique, and dated 354–68 BCE.
Findings similarly based on pastoralism and farming within South Africa thus far – is from sites identified in what was the Transvaal (province), they were dated 249–370 CE. The earliest written record of farming life in South Africa by Europeans starts slightly after 1500 CE.
Rural Development
Sustainable Rural Development is vital to the economic, social and environmental viability of nations. It is essential for poverty eradication since global poverty is overwhelmingly rural. The manifestation of poverty goes beyond the urban-rural divide, it has sub-regional and regional contexts.
It is therefore critical, and there is great value to be gained, by coordinating rural development initiatives that contribute to sustainable livelihoods through efforts at the global, regional, national and local levels, as appropriate.
The Newly crowned King Misuzulu has endorsed his late father's commitment to uplift rural communities.With this being said, The KZN CRD is non-profit educational organization cushioned to improve livelihoods in rural communities by implementing comprehensive development for SMME’s in rural areas.
